Memorial Day Fireworks at the Lake of the Ozarks

Whether you're ready for summer or not, Memorial Day Weekend is here to kick off the season! This is a special time of year to honor the brave men and women who gave their lives serving our country. This bittersweet holiday weekend offers both a time for solemn remembrance for the fallen and a celebration of what America stands for. All across the country, communities will host parades, concerts and of course, amazing firework displays. Saturday, May 26th at 9:45 PM
View by land at Bear Bottom Resort, 123 Bear Bottom Drive in Sunrise Beach, or by water at the 38 MM. Parking is limited, so be sure to arrive early. Call 573-374-6905 for more details.

The Inn at Grand Glaize 

Sunday, May 27th at Dusk 
View by land at the Inn at Grand Glaize,5142 Osage Beach Parkway in Osage Beach, or by water at the 1 MM of the Grand Glaize Arm. Call 573-348-4731 for more details.

Tan-Tar-A Resort 

Sunday, May 27th from 8:30-9:30 PM (Dusk) 
Viewing by land is reserved for resort guests only, but you can view them by water at the 26 MM. Call 573-348-3131 for more details.

Tropic Island Cruise 

Sunday, May 27th at 7:30 PM 
Boarding begins at 7:30 PM, and you will then cruise out to the 26 MM to view Tan-Tar-A's firework display. Call 573-348-8550 for reservations or more details.

Happy 4th of July from Your Lake Vacation!

The big holiday weekend we've been preparing for is finally here! While the rain may have thrown a wrench in some plans, it's not going to stop us from having a great holiday weekend at the Lake of the Ozarks! To kick off the festivities, Your Lake Vacation has thrown together some interesting facts and statistics about the 4th of July!

4th of July Fun Facts


1. In 2014, $247.1 million is fireworks was imported from China. This represents the bulk of all U.S. fireworks imported ($257.8 million). 

2. The word "liberty" is found in 59 counties and census places across the United States. Pennsylvania has more of these places than any other state with 11. 

3. In 1776, the population of the 13 colonies was around 2.5 million. Today, there is an estimated United States population of 321.2 million. 

4. On the 4th of July this year, 63% of the U.S. population will attend a fireworks show, while 80% will attend a barbecue, picnic or cookout. 

5. The Nathan's Famous Hot Dog Eating Contest on Coney Island began in 1916. The record is 68 hot dogs in 10 minutes! 

6. On the 4th of July each year, Americans eat roughly 150 million hot dogs. 

7. More than 14,000 4th of July fireworks displays explode across the nation each year. 

8. Macy's 4th of July Fireworks show in New York City is the largest in the country, using more than 70,000 pounds of fireworks!  

9. There is almost a 33% probability that the hot dog you eat this 4th of July came from Iowa. Nearly 1/3 of all hogs and pigs are from Iowa. 

10. Aside from hot dogs, other popular food sales for the 4th of July include $107 million worth of popsicles and $167 million worth of watermelon.
