National Vacation Rental Month

July is National Vacation Rental Month! Vacation rentals are great options for families or groups of friends, providing all the comforts of home. Why would you stay in a hotel when you could have plenty of space to spread out, a place to cook meals, many rooms and more for close to the same price? Whether you're a vacationer or someone who owns a second home at the Lake of the Ozarks, this is the month to talk to us about what Your Lake Vacation can do for you!

Vacationers

With July already well underway, there's a limited amount of time to take that family vacation before the kids head back to school. Now is the time to get your vacation planned with the help of our staff. Not only can we help you find the perfect accommodations, we can help you with renting a boat or jet skis, setting up a golf package, suggesting the best places to eat and more! We are committed to making your Lake of the Ozarks vacation a truly memorable experience. Contact us at 573-365-3367 to book your reservations today!

Second Homeowners

Now is the time to consider putting your home on our rental program! We are halfway through the season, making now a great time to analyze how much you've actually used your vacation home at the Lake of the Ozarks. If you're only coming down a couple times during the summer months, you're home could be a great candidate for our vacation rental program. We can come out, take a look at your property and give you an estimate on how much you could potentially make through renting your home. We'll make suggestions on improvements to help your home rent better and the best part is, you have someone looking after your home while you're away. Depending on where your permanent residence is, it might be nice to have someone else taking care of the maintenance of your home and keeping an eye out for you. Contact our Lake of the Ozarks property management company at 573-365-3367 about putting your home on our program today!

Since 1986, we've helped thousands of guests from all across the country with their vacation planning. With a "Tingue-in-cheek" approach, the band declares it's allegiance to the boogie lifestyle with such mega-grooves as "Shake Your Booty", "Love Rollercoaster" and "Superfreak". Their efforts have gained for them enormous popularity in a relatively short period of time. They're hot...and your audience will know it before the first songs is done.

The Midwest's premier tribute to the music of Foreigner features members from three long time favorite Kansas City bands - Vandelyn Kross, Monkey Finger and London Drive.

Members Only Band

Members Only is the nation's premier 80's tribute band, playing your favorite hair and pop classics from the decade that gave us the Rubik's Cube, Atari, and feathered bangs!  Members Only has been playing regionally since the "Summer of 69" (no wait, 2008) with experienced musicians Brent Thornton on lead vocals, Jeremiah Sharp on bass guitar, Will "The Prodigy" Clark on the keys, Seth Jaeger and Zach McClease playing guitar, and Justin Gabossi keeping the beat on the drums. Packing Tips for Your Lake of the Ozarks Vacation

So you've booked that Lake of the Ozarks vacation you've been dreaming of and now it's time to pack! The question now is, what do I need to bring? One of the great things about staying in one of our Lake of the Ozarks waterfront condos or homes is that they come fully furnished and ready to use! Linens, towels and basic kitchen items are provided in all of our accommodations. A starter supply of toilet paper, paper towels and soap are also provided, but for extended stays you'll want to bring extra. Here's a list of things you'll definitely want to make sure and pack when vacationing at the Lake!

Clothing and Footwear

While it may seem like a swimsuit and hat are the only clothing items you need to enjoy a day at the Lake, be sure to pack both cool and hot weather clothes. If you choose to go out on the boat in the evening, the breeze over the water might be kind of chilly. You'll want a hoodie or light jacket to throw over your swimwear. In addition to your flip flops, be sure to pack some tennis shoes or boots for hiking, and don't forget the socks. The Lake of the Ozarks has beautiful trails throughout the State Park and you'll want to make sure and visit the castle ruins at Ha Ha Tonka as well.

Kitchen Items

Each home or condo will have a coffee pot and toaster available for your use. However, you will want to bring your own coffee and maybe some extra coffee filters. Basic cooking utensils, pots, pans and dinnerware are also provided. While a roll of paper towels is provided, you may want to bring extra if you plan on cooking a lot. Dish soap and dishwasher tablets are provided. There will be two trash bags per trash can, so you may want to bring a few extra if you think you'll have a lot of trash during your stay.

Toiletries

Be sure to pack shampoo, conditioner, shaving cream, razors, toothbrush, toothpaste and any other personal care items you may need while on vacation. When vacationing at the Lake, you'll probably want to include sunscreen, bug spray and maybe some aloe vera gel or lotion. A starter supply of toilet paper and bar soaps are provided. However, you're likely to need additional toilet paper, unless you're only staying for 2 nights.

Beverages and Snacks

While a day at the Lake for you may consist of kicking back on the boat and having a few beers, you don't want to get dehydrated. In addition to your tasty beverages, be sure to pack plenty of bottled water! Depending on how long you plan on being out on the water, you'll want to make sure you have snacks too, especially if you have kiddos. Some popular lake snacks include chips, crackers and grapes. If you're going to be gone all day, sandwiches make a great on-the-go lunch; all you need is some bread, cheese, lunch meat and maybe some mayo or mustard.

Water Toys

While you may want to get some good ole exercise by swimming, you'll want to make sure you have some floaties. From inflatable tubes to foam noodles, having something ready for when you get tired of treading water is important. If you're going out on a boat or jet ski, you'll need to make sure everyone has a life jacket as well. They will probably be provided for you if you rent a boat at the Lake of the Ozarks. Tubes, water skiis and kneeboards are also great water toys to have at the Lake of the Ozarks. If you don't have your own, there are lots of places you can rent them from!

Other Items

Coolers full of ice and koozies to keep your drinks cold are two must haves for a vacation at the Lake of the Ozarks! There's nothing like a cold, refreshing drink in the sun. You'll also want to make sure to pack some sunglasses, preferably a cheap pair in case you loose them in the lake. While bath towels are provided, you'll want to bring your own beach towels to use at the pool, swim docks and out on the boat. As with any vacation, don't forget your chargers for all your electronics!

Don't worry if you forget something...the Lake of the Ozarks isn't on some deserted island. There's a Wal-Mart in the middle of town, as well as several other grocery and convenient stores around. For any questions regarding what is available in the specific condo or home you've reserved, give us a call at 573-365-3367. At Your Lake Vacation, we're committed to making your Lake of the Ozarks vacation rental experience truly memorable!
